Memorial Day memories
We had pretty busy Memorial weekend. For the first time in I can't even remember how long, Dave and I both had a 3 day weekend. And, we were both post-call on Friday, so really it was like a 4 day weekend. We started off Friday evening with a going away party for one the family medicine residents who's leaving for Arkansas in a couple of weeks.
We then went to my friend Melissa's house for a Sunday barbeque. Her air conditioning was out, which made for a toasty afternoon. We all ended up out on the back porch, which worked well until the rain started. However, the kids thought that made it even better. Abby especially loved getting wet and running with the bigger kids. She ended up getting hosed down in Melissa's bathtub and running around in her diaper the rest of the day.
And what's a memorial day without some meat sticks??
Happy Memorial Day, everyone!!
Raise the Roof!
Where once there was this....
We now have this....
For the low, low price of only $10,500. Well, really, that got us the WHOLE roof, but I didn't think that was near as exciting as our missing shingles. Bring on the rain!!

Outside Adventures
Not much to report, so I'll just post some pictures. The weather's been beautiful here, so we've been spending part of everyday outside before dinner time. Abby's favorite thing to do is play in the dirt of the potted plants, which doesn't sit too well with Dave and his precious rasberry bushes! She gets more and more fun everyday, and we often sit and marvel at what a wonderful daughter we are blessed to have!
(Day 1--clothes already gone due to the dirt)

For the Adults
Hi everyone...
No exciting pictures today. Just me killing some time at work. I love being on an elective!
So in adult news lately, we're going to get a new roof. And better yet, insurance will be paying for our new roof! After a lot of "discussion", phone calls, and three adjusters looking at it, State Farm finally decided that it would in fact be better to replace our 3 year old roof rather than just the 6x8 foot area without shingles. So AFTER three weeks of rain (which hopefully has not leaked into our attic) we'll have a pretty new roof. Yeah!
I'm working on transitioning into my Chief year now. I'm truly on an elective, but the schedule making has begun. I didn't think it would be this complicated to do the schedules! I'm sure I've invested 5 hours in the monthly schedule + at LEAST 10 hours in the year long schedule. I think I'm nearing the end (at least until next week when I'll start on the July schedule). And my co-chief has decided to have a baby tonight/tomorrow so it's all me for a little while. But feel free to send happy thoughts to my friend Lisa for a quick and smooth delivery of little Cameron!
Dave's interviewing for jobs now. He's almost definitely gotten an offer from the Integris system for a clinic job, and he's got several more interviews set up in the next month or so. He's happy because the hospitals are calling HIM, so it's less work for him. I'm hoping he'll have something signed in the next 4-6 weeks because his last paycheck from residency is quickly approaching. As are the BIG student loan payments......sigh.
That's all. I'll update again soon whenever there's news!

Oklahoma Aquarium
Now that Abby's back in Oklahoma with her Mommy, we decided to take a quick trip over to Tulsa to the Oklahoma aquarium and visit with her aunt, uncle, and cousin. It was a dreary rainy day, but I highly recommend the fish if you're ever in this part of the country. Michael's high school had their prom here...how cool would that be??
In the shark tunnel.....with a dirty camera lens??
Outside the aquarium with the alligator
Even Dave was intrigued....
Her favorite part.....the otters!
With the catfish that's bigger than she is....
Trying to touch the venom fish.....
The eel had a crush on Dave....
