Sept.29th

I have basically nothing special to say. Luckily, Abby has some things to share.
We spent this evening at a local park--she still loves the swing.

A couple of leftover fair pictures....

And a few from this past week on her way to daycare. Notice the shoes....my favorite!!!!

That's all folks!

Fun at the Fair

For the first time in I don't even know how long, I went to the fair. And I took Abby with me. And, I even convinced Mom and Dad to come with us. The man reason I wanted to go was to take Abby to the petting zoo. The goats were by far her favorite part.

She even figured out how to feed them......
And tried a little bit of the food herself. (Notice the zebra in the background--prior to said animal feed trial, she was screaming "zebra, zebra, zebra!")

This one is my favorite, although in retrospect, I think she pulled some goat hair out.

She wasn't too sure about the carousel at first, but she warmed up when it started moving.

We all had an Indian Taco (not bad, but really not anything fabulous either).

Found a new friend---she held his hand the ENTIRE time (and threw a huge fit when I wouldn't let her take him into walmart today).

And finally fell asleep on the way out.
I bought a cute little wood carving that was supposed to say "The Deleons, est. 2005" to hang on the way by the front door. On my third look at the thing (and after Mom looked at it once too), I realized it in fact says "The delons, est. 2005". So, just call me Stephanie Delon from now on. :)

Intern Retreat

Although I am thankfully not an intern anymore, part of the fun of my job is organizing and being part of this year's intern retreat. It was held Sept 17-18th at the UCO ropes course and Deer Creek Lodge down by Turner Falls. We started off the day (the rain stopped just before we got started--yeah!!) with a few silly get to know you games....

Then transitioned into some trust building exercises (and no one got dropped--yeah!)....

And then progressed to self-assurance and courage.....

And ended with a little fun.

We then moved the party down to Turner Falls to this beautiful place....

Grilled some burgers and vegetables...

Had some high quality hang out time....

Did some game playing....which reminds me...taboo is not a game for those who have not mastered the English language......

And woke up refreshed...or hung over??...the next morning for a group picture...

And a good time was had by all!

Adventures In Potty Training

We've officially been trying to potty train for about two weeks. Just to report, no success yet. We talk about the potty, Abby even says" pee pee in the potty", but being able to say the words is not yet translating into being able to do the deed. My thought had been to let her run around diaperless with frequent trips to the potty. This is, in fact, what has actually happened....

Doing well...sitting on the potty, although backwards...

Having conversations with daddy about how big girls use the potty....

Yep, done with the potty for today.....

But of course, will run around naked for hours....

So far, nothing in the toilet and two accidents on the carpet, so we're 0-2 for the season. We'll keep you posted, and any tips you've got will be appreciated!

Happy News!

See this guy right here? This was our first anniversary.
And here? With his newborn baby girl.
And here's that guy teaching his toddler about the wondrous outdoors.

So why am I doing a post solely dedicated to this guy? This guy who loves me like crazy (even when I drive him crazy--which I do often) and is an amazing father to our little girl (who isn't so little anymore0 but that's another post)........

Is officially a board certified family physician! I love you, babe, and I'm so proud of you!!

A Zebra at the Zoo

Last weekend Abby and I spent an afternoon at the zoo with my friend Laura and her daugher Riley. The girls had a great time together, and Abby leared how to say "zebra"!
