While the baby's napping....

We thought the last of Abby's birthday balloons should go to good use. So, in a fit of poor judgment, we decided to play while she was napping tonight. I think Dave's is the best......

Pigtails, and other random stuff.....

I think I've gone a little crazy with the pigtails....but it's just too easy. We're at three and counting......

A few more random shots from the week.....

Her first time eating spaghetti by herself.....

Abby and her Mommy

I hope everyone's have a great week! I revelation for the weekend is that I only have four calls left in my residency career....it was a glorious revelation, indeed!

It's My Party.....

Here's the rest of the pictures from the party, including the cake pictures!!
She started off the morning playing with her gift from Aunt Whit....

From the actual party....
(I still maintain that Nemo's orange was faded and he looked like he'd been left out in the sun too long, but Abby didn't seem to care!)

Playing with her friend Callie L. (Callie was her first friend that visited when she was about 2 weeks old)

She was not terribly pleased with her birthday hat....

But her mood seemed to pick up when she got to the cake....

Abby and her friend Winowna (and my friend Aditi)

One year as a family of three!

Her favorite present......

What the birthday car was intended for.....

What the DeLeons use it for......

And, sadly enough, there are specific instructions on why NOT to do this in the instruction manual. But how much fun is she having!!!

Birthday Day

This is what I woke up to.....
Birthday waffles.........
And her latest hairdo......

After a long birthday day......

To My Dearest Abby,

I can't believe you're a year old today. I can't believe that two years ago, you were just a thought your daddy and I had, and one year ago that thought, that dream, became a reality. My life changed forever on April 2, 2008. And although this has been the most challenging year of my life, I have loved being your mother. My happiest memories of this past year revolve around you....cheering you on as you tried SO hard to roll over and the shock in your eyes when you finally did it.....the first time you laughed....watching you nap on the beach.....your attempts to eat your giraffe tail at Halloween....your excitement at FINALLY figuring out how to do a hi five......

Did I mention that I love being your mother?!?

Did I mention that I can't imagine life without you?!?

I am so thankful you're here. And I can't wait to see what moments stick out most this time next year. I love you, my dearest Abby. My one year old, beautiful, smart, inquisitive, smiling, fabulous Abby.
