So Dave and I had a date night last week (along with our friends Adrienne and Jason) and we tried a new OKC experience...the roller derby! I was inspired after seeing "Whip It" a few months ago, and then we heard that Oklahoma City was getting a roller derby team. It was like it was meant to be!
(In Jason's defense, this was a couple of beers in!)It was located in the old Farmer's Market downtown, and they had the place all spified up with Chinese lanterns. They explained the rules at the beginning and gave us a nice handbook to follow. And then the pushing and shoving began!
All types of people there...people who could have worked with us at the hospital down to bumpkin OK people who had no teeth. Lots of kids running around too. We had a great time....I highly recommend the experience if you've got a roller derby near you!
